3. How to get Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Most borrowers are rejected because they do not meet the program. But forgiveness of your loans is possible if you follow the program rules:

  • There is the correct type of loan, or consolidation
  • Work full time for a qualified employer
  • Switch to paying debt by income
  • Make payments worth 10 years
  • Forgive

To qualify For PSLF, customers need to meet some requirements:

  • They need to work for a government agency or for some kind of nonprofit organization;
  • They need to work full-time for that agency or organization;
  • They need tohave direct loans (or merge other federal student loans to qualify);
  • They need torepay your loans on an income-based repayment plan; and
  • They need to make 120 eligible payments.

To ensure customers can stay on track, they should submit their annual employment certification form or when they change employers.
